The best laid plans ...

My grandson was due to be born in January, in Germany, where my son-in-law is serving in the Air Force.

We had a whole plan.

Toddler walking on a country road

We were going to send out announcements so that everyone could plan their quilting needs accordingly.

I was going to be present for the baby's birth to support my daughter and son-in-law and help with my other grandson (the one whose birth I couldn't attend last year because COVID shut down all the flights ... that's a whole other story!). That's him toddling down the road in the picture. He's the cutest little guy ever.

But babies have their own timelines, and my new grandson chose to arrive almost 7 weeks early. I guess he didn't want to wait a whole year for his first Christmas! He's going to be in the NICU for a while, but he's doing well so far.

So ... I'm heading to Germany on 12/20/21 and will be back on 2/2/22.

You can still order fun sewing goodies from my store. You can still use the Design My Quilt form to get an instant quote and/or order your longarm quilting. You can still send in your quilt tops. I'll work on everything in the order that it is received when I get back. And you'll still get your quilts back in a fraction of the time that you might expect. (Really. Check my reviews. People love getting their quilts done quickly and beautifully.) If you're not sure what you'd like to do with your quilt top, feel free to book a free Zoom consultation. I'll still be doing those while I'm away.

It's an oddly rushed and stressful end to the year, to be sure, but I'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone for their support this year. It has been a joy and a privilege to work on so many beautiful quilts, and it has been wonderful to meet so many new quilting friends. I wish everyone a peaceful and joyous holiday season and the happiest of new years.
