Welcome to That Expat Aussie! We are so glad you are here. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the site, but please observe a few house rules. This page sets out your rights and responsibilities while you use our site. By using any of our services or browsing our site, you're agreeing to the Terms. If you don't agree with the Terms, you may not use our services. But we think you'll agree these are fair and reasonable guidelines, so please read on!

Anti-Discrimination and Hate Speech
We prohibit the use of our services to discriminate against people based on any of the following: race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic prohibited under applicable laws (collectively, "protected groups"). It is your responsibility to know your local laws and any other legal regulations on discrimination that might apply to you. Additionally, we do not allow hate speech. Hate speech occurs when violent, offensive, derogatory, or demeaning language is directed at a person or group based on any of their attributes. Whether you are engaging with That Expat Aussie directly, or with its community such as through reviews or comments, discrimination and hate speech are not allowed. We will never refuse service based on membership in one or more protected groups, and users of our site are prohibited from displaying discriminatory behavior toward protected groups. Examples of prohibited behavior include, but are not limited to:

Payments
That Expat Aussie allows you to use various forms of payment on our site. You can pay with a credit card, debit card, or PayPal. This section describes all of your rights and obligations when using That Expat Aussie's payment services. We have partnered with Wix to perform the services related to payment processing, including card processing, currency exchange, identity verification, fraud analysis, and regulatory compliance. We may share your personal or transactional information with this provider for purposes related to payment processing. By using this service, you may also be subject to an agreement with the third party. For example, PayPal is a third-party service provided by PayPal Holdings, Inc., and is subject to its own User Agreement. That Expat Aussie is not responsible for the content of those agreements or your compliance with their terms. We reserve the right to decline or refund transactions that we believe to be high risk, fraudulent, in violation of trade sanctions, or otherwise unacceptable to us according to our Terms of Use.

Sanctions
That Expat Aussie is required to comply with economic sanctions and trade restrictions, including those implemented by the Office of Foreign Asses Control ("OFAC") of the United States Department of Treasury. This means that we cannot take part in transactions that involve designated people, places, or items that originate from those places, as determined by agencies such as OFAC. This policy applies to anyone that uses our services, regardless of their location. It is up to you to familiarize yourself with these restrictions if you believe they may apply to you. For example, these restrictions generally prohibit, but are not limited to, transactions involving:

Certain geographic areas, such as Crimea, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and Syria, or any individual or entity operating or residing in those places;

Individuals or entities identified on sanctions lists such as OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals (“SDN”) List or Foreign Sanctions Evaders (“FSE”) List;

Nationals of Cuba, regardless of location, unless citizenship or permanent residency outside of Cuba has been established; and

Items originating from areas including Cuba, North Korea, Iran, or Crimea, with the exception of informational materials such as publications, films, posters, phonograph records, photographs, tapes, compact disks, and certain artworks.
